Gifts in Action

Your gift can make great things happen.

You already know that we are dedicated to providing academic excellence, embodying Spiritan values, and encouraging service to others. But you may not know exactly how we can use your gift to make that happen.

Your donations make our world better.

Thanks to our supporters, we remain one of the nation’s top Catholic universities and the only Spiritan institution of higher education. Generous donations of all sizes and types allow us to put our mission into action, sharing our deep commitment to educational excellence, moral and spiritual values, a diverse and welcoming atmosphere, and service to the Church, the community, the nation, and the world. We foster curiosity and tenacity, and we strive to help build a better Pittsburgh, a better western Pennsylvania, and a better world.

1 Faith Cook

Faith Cook, a sociology major in the pre-law track, served as president of the Student Government Association for academic year 2024-25. A native of Houston, Texas, she personally benefited from donor support.I was fortunate to receive endowed scholarship money, which made it financially possible for me to attend Duquesne. This support not only has enabled my journey but also allows hundreds of my fellow students to pursue their personal and professional dreams,” she says.

In her leadership position, she gained a broader perspective on the importance of donor support.

“Many programs and activities that my friends, classmates, and I participate in receive crucial funding from your contributions.  This support not only amplifies our educational experience but also helps us build a stronger and more connected community.”

On behalf of all Duquesne students, Cook expresses her gratitude: Thank you for your continued generosity and commitment to our education. Your gifts have a lasting impact, and we deeply appreciate your kindness. We are incredibly grateful for your support.”

“Our experience at Duquesne was transformative. The education we received allowed us to have very successful careers as pharmacists, and we want others to share the same benefits. We are brought to tears every time we get the info about a new recipient. We are so happy to help future pharmacists.”

Your support helps further our mission.

How? When you make a gift to us, your valuable donation may go to any of the following areas:

  • Gifts help us continue to offer the transformative benefits of a Duquesne education to all worthy students, now and for generations to come. They also help us attract the most talented and motivated students to be part of our diverse and vibrant learning community.
  • Academic initiatives. Gifts directed to these initiatives unleash the boundless potential of every school, program, and student. From programmatic support for City Music Center (the community outreach division of the Mary Pappert School of Music) to funding grants for undergraduate research in the Honors College to enabling new or renovated lab space for engineering programs, your donations can fund the areas you’re most passionate about.
  • Student experience. Well-rounded students need experiences both in and out of the classroom. Your gifts help fund co-curricular/extracurricular activities, athletics, community outreach, and campus ministry, along with improvements to our campus and facilities that ensure a comfortable, safe environment.
